SA Players World Rankings

South African Squash players move up the World Rankings.

After recent successful showings in the North Coast Open, Coffs Harbour Open Championships and the New South Wales Open in Australia, South African National Champion, Siyoli Waters, has jumped seven places in the October World Rankings released today to 28, her personal highest.

Waters from Cape Town, collected both titles beating Australians Christine Nunn and Sarah Cardwell in the respective finals.

Fellow Capetonian, Milnay Louw, who reached the quarters of the North Coast Open Coffs Harbour and the semi-finals of the New South Wales Open, where she lost to Waters, has moved up 28 places to 82.

UJ student, Cheyna Tucker , the recently crowned  South African under 23 champion, is 75 with UCT student Alex Fuller hovering outside the top 100 at 101.

National Men’s champion, Steve Coppinger (Kzn, has slipped two place to 19 while Shaun Le Roux (WP) still sits at 54 and Clinton Leeuw, also of Western Province is 84.

Thoboki Mohohlo of Central Gauteng, has jumped 37 places to 150.  Mohohlo reached the quarter-finals of the North Coast Open, where he lost to the eventual winner Mike Corren of Australia in 4 games.
In the Christchurch BHS Open Mohohlo reached the last 16  while in the New South WALES Open he provided an upset accounting for 8th seeded Lance Beddoes of New Zealand, before again clashing with and losing to Corren.
