We had a record number of entries for this WP Closed Championships, with 76 Men and 24 Women participating. The WPS Club entry breakdown for the tournament was as follows: WPCC led the way with 25 entries, followed by UCT Squash Club with 12 and VOB Squash, VSC - Villager Squash Club, Camps Bay Squash Club who had 9 entries each.
Karen Schultz (WPCC) & Juanette le Roux (WPCC) contested the Ladies Final, with Karen winning her 6th WP Closed title [11-8, 9-11, 11-9, 11-6]. The Mens Final was a mix of experience and youth with WP U/19 #1 Seth Flisberg (Bergvliet) taking on the mighty Gary Wheadon (Milnerton). Gary was just too steady and won in straight sets [11-5, 11-8, 11-6].
